Soap Dish- African Cherry Wood (Makore)
This is an exotic African hardwood, and this signature series soap dish is very limited. Each soap dish measures 3" x 4.125" x .5" thick. Each top plank has been meticulously hand sanded, and all top planks are carefully rounded over to give a nice luxurious look and feel.
Makore is a natural and stunning deep rich red color. Unlike other similar wood colors, African mahogany or sapele, makore wood does not bleed color when saturated with water. This wood will never stain your soaps or leave a red water on your porcelain or tile.
* * * ABOUT THIS AFRICAN CHERRY WOOD * * *
While still harvested legally, African cherry wood was recently put on the endangered species list because it is now being harvested faster than they are regrowing it. This particular batch of wood was sourced several years ago by a cabinet maker that went out of business. Instead of throwing out this precious species of wood, the boards were sold off to the small business owner who makes these beautiful soap dishes.
My inventory is very limited, and when it is gone, it will NEVER be offered again.

A soap dish significantly extends the life of a bar of soap - but did you know that you can also extend the life of your soap dish? Use your soap dishes in pairs to extend the life of the dish - use one dish for 2-3 weeks, and then switch it out with the second dish while allowing the first dish to completely dry out while you are using the second dish for 2-3 weeks. Doing this will prevent mold and mildew from developing and growing on your dish and greatly extend the life of the dish.
